SAN DIEGO — Walmart is bringing the latest in online shopping to the San Francisco Bay Area this fall, and it’s bringing the newest in apparel to the same shopping center.
The retailer will open two new stores at the former Wal-Mart Supercenter site, which it has been working to revitalize and modernize.
The two stores are located at 4201 Mission St. and 521 N. San Pablo Ave., in the city’s Marina District.
Walmart will offer more than 200 items, including clothing, jewelry and home goods, and offer a selection of gift cards that can be redeemed at the two stores.
New apparel will be available for purchase online starting Monday.
Wal-Mart’s newest San Francisco location is just one of several that the company is opening in other parts of the country.
On Tuesday, the company will open a store in downtown Portland, Ore., and is planning a second store in Santa Monica, Calif., which will also be a retail location.
More than 10,000 people were working to renovate the former Supercenter building and will begin operating a new store next week.
In March, Wal-Marts sister stores in Chicago, New York and Los Angeles will open.
